How to Join

Joining our community is a straightforward process, but it begins with you taking a few essential steps.

As stated previously, please be sure to note the following first:

Currently, we are only accepting applicants who are 18 years old or older, with very limited exceptions.

Our community is centered around the EST/EDT timezone (GMT -5/-4).

For any queries or uncertainties you may have, we recommend reviewing the following resources:

Start by completing our required application form, which can be found below. Alternatively, you can click here for a direct link.

The application serves to collect details about you, such as your age, how you found out about our group, and why you want to join.

Remember, your application is your first chance to make a good impression on our group. If you’re serious about joining, take the time to write a thoughtful application rather than just sending a quick “I want to join, let me in” message.

After you submit your application, please note that it may take at least a week to hear back. We review each application individually, depending on the availability of our staff, so processing and reviewing your submission might take some time.

If you haven’t received a follow-up within a week, don’t hesitate to inquire again. Sometimes, applications can be inadvertently overlooked, and we appreciate a proactive approach. Our acceptance process occurs irregularly and may happen in waves over time. By submitting your application, you express your interest, and we consider it when opportunities for new members arise.

What if I didn’t make it?

To those who applied but didn’t find a spot with us, we want to wish you the best in finding a community that suits your interests and values. Please understand that not being accepted into TFR at this time doesn’t reflect on you personally. We sometimes have to make tough choices due to our current limitations, and many worthy applicants don’t make it through.

Given the strong interest in joining us, it’s clear that there are many great individuals looking for a fulfilling Arma experience. We encourage you to explore the broader Arma community to find other groups that align with your preferences. The guidelines provided here may help on what to look for in groups might be useful in your search.

Some of you may have contemplated starting your own groups. While this is a substantial undertaking, it’s an opportune time for motivated individuals with the right ideas, vision, and determination to create something unique and special. Don’t be discouraged—there’s a world of possibilities out there in the gaming community.

Probation Period

Intent

When a new player joins Task Force Reaper, they are initially assigned the “Prospect” role, signifying their newcomer status. To attain full membership, the user must actively participate in the community for one month, including events and hangouts.

During this period, players in the “Prospect” role are under probation, subjecting them to scrutiny by our community. This allows us to assess whether they align with our community values and standards. Consequently, we reserve the right to revoke access without prior notice.

The “Prospect” role serves multiple purposes: it signals the player’s newcomer status and helps prevent Discord bot spam. Additionally, it provides an opportunity for the staff to evaluate whether the user is a good fit for permanent membership within our community. The probationary period allows us to assess whether the joining user’s character aligns with the values of our community. Think of it as a trial period or review phase, where we gauge compatibility of a new player to ensure a harmonious fit within our community dynamics.

Review

During a user’s probationary period, they undergo thorough evaluation by our staff team, assessing various factors including:

  • Adherence to community rules
  • Overall conduct both in-game and within the community
  • Maintenance of our standards
  • Interaction with fellow members
  • Efforts to uphold gameplay integrity
  • Responsiveness to commands
  • Willingness to learn and improve
  • Provision of constructive feedback
  • and more.

While we recognize that nobody is flawless, we uphold a clear set of rules and standards, expecting all incoming users to respect and adhere to them.

Our aim isn’t to recruit professional soldiers or individuals with expert knowledge. Instead, we prioritize creating an environment conducive to enjoyable, well-balanced gameplay.

Ultimately, our primary objective is to have organized and disciplined fun.

Deliberation

Reviews are intended to be passive rather than active processes. Upon a new player joining the community, we observe their behavior both in-game and within the community to gauge their compatibility and overall demeanor.

The general consensus is that unless a player’s actions draw attention from the staff or the player base due to concerns, they are typically considered an ideal fit for the community. However, if a user does come to the staff’s attention due to certain issues, the staff team will deliberate for a specified period to determine an appropriate course of action.

These solutions generally fall into two categories: a warning for minor infractions or a permanent ban for more severe issues. Unlike established members who may be subject to the strike system and other community punishment protocols, new users are not automatically bound by these procedures. Nevertheless, they are expected to adhere to the same rules and standards as other members.

Consequently, the staff team may deviate from its standard punishment guidelines when addressing issues involving new users.

Removal

Task Force Reaper prides itself on fostering a relaxed community atmosphere and upholding the value of freedom of speech. Nevertheless, in the event that a member violates a rule, the staff will engage in deliberations to determine an appropriate course of action.

Typically, the initial step is to issue a formal warning to the member, which counts as 1 strike against them.. However, in the case of a new user, the staff reserves the authority to opt for an immediate permanent ban based on the outcome of their deliberations.

However, in the case of new players, we retain the discretion to skip the warning and proceed directly to a permanent ban, depending on the outcome of our deliberations.

Failing Probation

In cases where a user hasn’t breached any specific rules but their overall demeanor doesn’t align with the community’s standards—be it due to attitude, conduct, or a failure to adhere to the chain of command—we reserve the right to terminate their probation.

If such a situation arises, the user will undergo a holding period of up to 3 months, during which they may reapply for membership if they choose to do so after the period expires.

Following the expiration of the failed probation hold, the player may rejoin the community. They will be assigned the prospect role and are expected to adhere to the same rules, standards, and principles as before, including any updates implemented since their initial removal.

Upon rejoining, the player will enter another probationary period. However, if they fail to meet the community’s expectations during this time, they may face permanent expulsion as they are deemed unsuitable for continued membership.
