“Death to Tyrants”
Established in 2014 and continuously evolving, Task Force Reaper is an Arma community comprised of individuals hailing from diverse corners of the globe, boasting over 10 years of collective expertise across the Arma series. However, our community is also more than ArmA players coming together. We are a tight-knit collective of like-minded gamers who prioritize quality over quantity. Our community is rooted in shared values and an investment in one another.
Our foundation rests upon the pillars of teamwork, tactical gameplay, and fun.
Within our ranks, you’ll find not just players, but also mission creators, modders, leaders, and, most importantly, friends and family. We are devoted to creating an experience of collaborative growth that has been carefully cultivated over many years, using the Arma series as our foundation and platform for our own style of play, but we do not confine ourselves solely to it.

Philosophy
We are a diverse community that includes everyone from politicians and military personnel to first responders and everyday citizens, all of whom have come together to create a serious and fun gaming experience. Our approach is grounded in our philosophy of teamwork, tactics, and fun—what we call “Serious Fun.”
Breaking this down, “Serious” reflects our commitment to in-game tactics, techniques, and procedures inspired by real-world practices, alongside our collective maturity and the serious yet enjoyable attitude we maintain during gameplay.
Conversely, “Fun” highlights our dedication to providing the best possible experience for our members. It is a constant reminder that everything we do is geared towards maximizing the enjoyment of our member base while seamlessly integrating it into our gaming experiences.
Gameplay
Our approach intentionally avoids many of the aspects typically associated with “milsim,” such as rigid time requirements, physical training, or prolonged periods of “standing at attention.” However, we do incorporate certain elements, like out-of-game “roleplaying” such as “deployments” and “campaigns,” to enhance the uniformity and immersion of our gameplay.
We primarily focus on U.S. Armed Forces and NATO units, equipping ourselves with a variety of weapons, vehicles, and gear similar to what real-life counterparts use. At the same time, we welcome the chance to explore other factions and groups and we encourage creativity among our mission creators.
Although we uphold a structured chain of command during gameplay, our community emphasizes equality. Every member is encouraged to take on key roles and leadership responsibilities as they choose.

Principles of Our Community
Our organization is defined by a set of core principles that serve as the bedrock of our community. Here are some key highlights that illuminate our values:
- Community Emphasis. Above all, we prioritize our community’s growth and interaction. While many places offer fun and games, we provide a higher sense of unity and purpose.
- Quality-over-Quantity. We uphold high standards of conduct, with a focus on teamwork, maturity, and integrity. This commitment to quality enhances the overall group experience.
- Active Participation. We value active community involvement. The more one puts into the community, the more they will get back. If you join us, expect to see an active community where people have earned their positions and engage regularly.
- Esprit-de-Corps. We are proud of our achievements and growth, and our rich history of camaraderie, evolution, and achievement adds a deep depth of group identity and character.
- Tactical Proficiency. We aim to maintain a high level of tactical gameplay without resorting to tedious and impractical trainings. Our tactical guides serve as a reference, and over time, you’ll see your tactical skills and understanding grow naturally during engaging and intense gameplay.
- Motivated Leadership. We aim for a high level of competency in leadership among our players. Our non-leaders also excel at following orders and conducting themselves well during missions. Leadership opportunities are abundant, whether at the start of a mission as platoon or squad leaders, or arising in-mission due to casualties. You’ll find that your team will follow you into even the most challenging scenarios because we’re all here for a good time, and a even glorious virtual defeat can be a lot of fun.
- Individual Initiative. We encourage individual initiative and do our best to avoid micromanagement. In the absence of specific instructions, we expect members to act in alignment with the commander’s intent.
- “No Bullshit” Mentality. We maintain a “no bullshit” mentality. Toxic attitudes or disruptive behavior are not tolerated. The health of our community is a top priority, and toxic behavior will not be tolerated.
These principles provide a snapshot of who we are and what we stand for. However, we primarily recognize the importance of applicants’ character and values in contributing to our vibrant community.
What We Provide
We are an active, seasoned, and mature community with a diverse membership that includes everyone from college students to military personnel, all brought together by a shared passion for tactical gaming. Our primary goal is to create an atmosphere marked by expertise, maturity, and—most importantly—enjoyment. Whether we’re playing Arma 3 or exploring new games together, our mission remains the same: to build memorable experiences and lasting connections within a cohesive and inclusive community.
International Community
Although our roots lie in North America, we proudly embrace our status as an international community, welcoming individuals from every corner of the globe. We strive to accommodate members spanning from Western Canada and Northern France to Eastern Australia.
We understand that many individuals have busy schedules, and we’re committed to making sure everyone has the opportunity to participate, regardless of their availability.
Our approach to activity and attendance is flexible; we avoid imposing strict requirements. Instead of rigid expectations, we encourage members to engage at their own pace and contribute in ways that suit their schedules and playstyles.
Unique Gameplay
Our framework and philosophy enable our community to participate in meticulously researched, expertly crafted, and seamlessly coordinated sessions that feature a wide variety of missions, even including dedicated PvP or player-based OPFOR.
Our campaigns encompass a broad range of themes—from the iconic Normandy Paradrops of World War II to contemporary deployments in Afghanistan—we cover it all.
Between campaigns, we also offer the flexibility of standalone missions, catering to different preferences during sessions.
Each mission is carefully tailored, with equipment, gear, and roles specifically designed to fit the era and context, so that no two missions are the same. Our dynamic approach to mod management ensures that each session runs smoothly and efficiently.
Practical Emphasis
We take pride in delivering an experience that achieves a harmonious balance. Our focus on practicality leads us to streamline unnecessary elements commonly found in hardcore milsim environments. This means we avoid rigid formalities like standing at attention, extensive training regimens, or being confined to a single unit or repetitive tasks, as we believe these constraints can hinder enjoyment and creativity.
Instead, we prioritize a realistic yet accessible approach through our use of carefully curated mods, gameplay mechanics, and mirror real-world tactics and procedures in a manner that remains accessible and engaging within the Arma framework. We aim to avoid unnecessary complexity.
This balance allows us to provide a compelling experience that captures the essence of realism while ensuring that all participants find it enjoyable and engaging.
Dedicated Infrastructure
Our community has come together to establish a dedicated server box specifically designed to enhance our gaming experiences. This setup provides us with 24/7 online servers that boast an impressive 99.9% uptime and ensures optimal performance for all members. We also host a variety of game servers that offer diverse opportunities for engagement and participation in different gaming ventures.
Diversity
We welcome individuals from all walks of life, with the only criteria being the quality of one’s character. In our Arma community, we aim to provide a wide range of roles and experiences tailored to each member’s preferences. Whether you’re interested in specific roles, missions, or playstyles, we strive to accommodate everyone’s interests for a fulfilling experience.
Beyond Arma, our gaming repertoire includes titles like Helldivers, Squad, Minecraft, and many others, ensuring there’s always something exciting for our members to explore when they’re not engaged in Arma.
Commmunity Focused
We aim to cultivate a community that is flexible, adaptable, and mature, extending a warm welcome to all. We deeply appreciate those who contribute to enhancing our community, whether through offering advice, creating missions, or providing illustrations.
At the core of our ethos is a strong commitment to prioritizing the well-being of our members. We value open dialogue and encourage individuals to freely express their opinions, criticisms, and concerns without fear of reprisal.
This culture is what sets us apart and makes our community truly unique.
What Makes a Good Member?
While the technical aspects of joining our organization may seem straightforward—downloading and installing a few programs—the true essence of our community lies in our expectations for our members. In alignment with our “Quality over quantity” philosophy, we are meticulous in our selection process. We are more than willing to sift through numerous applicants to identify a single high-quality candidate. Our stringent selection process has contributed to the caliber of our member base and the excellence of our gameplay.
When assessing applications and observing prospects’ conduct, we place emphasis on several key values:
- Friendly, Respectful, and Maturity.
We expect our members to be friendly, respectful, and exhibit a mature demeanor. - Sense of Humor.
A good sense of humor and tolerance for dark humor is valued. - Willingness to Learn and Grow.
We look for individuals eager to learn and improve as players. - Teamwork-Oriented.
A mindset geared toward teamwork is crucial for effective collaboration within our group. - Honesty and Accountability.
We value honesty and expect members to take responsibility for their actions. - Motivation and Dedication.
We seek individuals committed to enhancing both the group and our collective experiences. - Long-Term Commitment.
We do not cater to “flavor-of-the-week” players; we prefer individuals committed to a lasting involvement with our community.
It’s worth noting that personal skill in the game is not a primary factor in our selection process. Skills can be taught and developed over time. Instead, we prioritize who you are as a person—your attitude and personality—because these traits are integral to our community’s dynamics. Online, attitude and personality are challenging to alter, and we lack the time to address individuals exhibiting poor behavior or sportsmanship from the outset.
Technical Requirements
Our technical specifications are outlined as follows:

- A working microphone
- A wired internet connection is also required; wireless or similar packet-loss-prone setups are not suitable.

Other Notes
While our community operates within the EST/EDT timezone, our session schedule can be flexible and may be subject to change. We understand that our players have unpredictable schedules, and as a result, we may adjust session times to accommodate these variations.
Please note that we are not currently running Reforger as part of our sessions. If you are seeking a community primarily focused on Reforger, you may want to explore other options. While we do integrate Reforger to some extent, our core game remains Arma 3. We do not anticipate shifting our primary focus to Arma 4 until it is released.
We are an active-participation group, and we have expectations beyond just playing Arma with us. Our members engage in community interaction beyond Arma, participating in various games throughout the week and fostering a friendly atmosphere for socializing in Teamspeak, Discord, and other platforms. If you are looking for a strict ‘milsim’ or more casual experience, you may find other communities better suited to your preferences. We cater to individuals interested in becoming part of a close-knit, mature community that values more than just enjoyable moments in Arma.
Personal skill takes a backseat when it comes to acceptance in our group. Whether you’re a seasoned marksman or new to high-level teamwork, this has no bearing on your standing in our community. What matters most to us is who you are as a person and your attitude towards the community.
Skill can be taught and developed over time, but attitude and personality are deeply ingrained traits that significantly impact our community dynamics. We are actively seeking good individuals with positive attitudes who can enhance the value of our community.
If you consider yourself a good person and are in search of a community where concepts like camaraderie, teamwork, and esprit-de-corps are not just words but heartfelt principles, then you’re likely to find us to be a perfect fit for your gaming journey.
Games We Play!
Task Force Reaper is not limited to just Arma 3; we actively participate in a wide variety of PC games. While our primary focus currently revolves around Arma 3 and its online multiplayer features, we are open to expanding our gaming horizons as more games become available.
In addition to Arma 3, you’ll find our members engaged in various popular games such as those from the Grand Theft Auto series, Squad, Helldivers 2, Escape from Tarkov, Planetside 2, and many more. We maintain a diverse gaming portfolio to cater to our members’ preferences, and we occasionally delve into other games when there are no immediate commitments in our timetables.
Our commitment to gaming extends beyond a single title, ensuring that our members have opportunities for enjoyable experiences in a range of games within our community.
Armed Assault Series
The Armed Assault (Arma) franchise is an exceptional platform for tactical simulation enthusiasts. Each game in the series offers a wealth of impressive features, including robust mod support, vast open-world maps, a strong emphasis on combat realism, and a diverse array of military assets encompassing air, land, and naval forces, among other elements.
Arma’s capabilities extend beyond just providing tools and assets; it serves as a fertile ground for the birth and growth of numerous tactical simulation organizations, Task Force Reaper being one of them. The franchise’s dedication to realism and immersion has drawn in communities like ours, allowing us to thrive and create unique and engaging gaming experiences within the Arma universe. It’s a testament to the game’s enduring appeal and its ability to foster a rich and dynamic gaming community.
Team-based Tactical Shooters
Team-based tactical shooters such as Squad, Project Reality, Insurgency, Ready or Not, Ground Branch, Hell Let Loose, and others deliver a tactical experience akin to the Armed Assault series, prioritizing realism, teamwork, and immersive tactical scenarios. With maps featuring coordinated objectives, players engage in missions like advance and secure (common in games like Squad and Project Reality) or high-stakes scenarios such as apprehending a drug lord (as seen in Ready or Not).
A standout advantage of select titles, notably Project Reality, Insurgency, and Ground Branch, lies in their ability to run smoothly without necessitating high-end gaming PCs. This accessibility broadens their appeal, enabling a diverse range of players to partake in the tactical and teamwork-driven gameplay they offer. These games serve as an excellent alternative for those craving realistic and captivating gaming experiences, all without the requirement of top-tier hardware.
Survival & Sandbox Games
This list boasts a plethora of games, among which DayZ stands out. Originating as an Arma 2 modification, DayZ revolutionized the military gaming genre by introducing a gripping zombie survival experience, setting the stage for a wave of subsequent survival shooters.
Another noteworthy title is Project Zomboid, a top-down, realistic zombie survival game renowned for its depth. Players can tailor their experience by adjusting settings such as zombie population, virus transmissibility, and loot rarity, offering a highly customizable gameplay experience.
Further expanding this category are survival-horror gems like Lethal Company and Sons of the Forest, alongside tactical horde experiences like Helldivers 2 and search-and-rescue adventures like Stormworks. The list extends far beyond these examples, showcasing the diverse range of options available within our gaming sphere.
Games We Have Plans With…
Our gaming sessions typically feature a diverse array of titles, with our selection of games changing on a weekly basis. Game choices are influenced by factors such as popularity, accessibility, and the ability to engage in cooperative or multiplayer gameplay.

Our History
Task Force Reaper has a rich history that traces its roots back to a long-standing military-oriented community that originally emerged on PlayStation 3 in 2012. Its current structure is the result of the collective experience and aspirations of several factions that once thrived in the digital realm of Battlefield and Grand Theft Auto Online.
Among the original factions were Foxtrot Company Private Military Corporation, the 11th Marine Division (both the original and revived versions), the Constitutional Republic of the United States, the Central Government of North America, and the Royal Canadian Forces Clan. Many of their members brought military and law enforcement backgrounds to the digital battlefield.
Our community has evolved significantly, branching into various gaming titles such as Battlefield 3/4, Red Dead Redemption, Rainbow Six, and Grand Theft Auto. With a strong emphasis on military realism, we cultivated a dedicated following.
However, in 2014, recognizing the need for change due to certain practices, we had made the decision to establish a new community focused on creating a more positive environment. While these original crews have dissolved, their legacy lives on through the emergence of a new and reformed community: Task Force Reaper. Since its inception, Task Force Reaper has focused on creating a high-quality gaming environment for all to enjoy.
Initially, our foray into Arma 2 was limited, but the potential for immersive experiences was evident. Transitioning to Arma 3 in 2017, we established a hardcore milsim centered around a fictional U.S. Marine division. This phase provided invaluable lessons in community management. In 2019, we rebranded as Task Force Reaper, shifting our focus to hardcore special operations realism. By 2023, we opted to balance gameplay with realism, alleviating undue stress on leadership and our player base while retaining the essence of realism that made the game enjoyable.
Throughout our journey, we have experienced the ebb and flow of membership, yet our commitment to this passion project remains unwavering.
